Humane Society of Harrisburg Area

The Humane Society of Harrisburg Area (HSHA) serves pets and people in Dauphin, Cumberland, and Perry Counties, an area of more than 600,000 people. HSHA not only helps our community’s homeless, abandoned, and lost pets but also acts as a resource for individuals to receive support through our various programs and services, focusing on providing quality care for people and our shelter companions.

We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping the low income pet families of Mifflin and Juniata Counties in Central Pennsylvania.

PetFinder Disaster Response and Recovery

The Petfinder Foundation disaster-relief program was designed to assist Petfinder members and their adoptable pets who have been struck by a natural disaster.  Funding from this program must support natural or human-made disasters that hit a community like hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, floods, earthquakes, extreme weather (freezing temps, significant snowstorms, extreme heat), and other events that devastate animal shelters and rescue groups.
